​​A Centurion stood at the foot of the Cross.  He said, "Truly, this was God's Son."  Truly, this was an extraordinary statement, coming from a battle-hardened soldier. We know quite a bit about centurions from ancient history.  And from several fascinating descriptions of them in the Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles.  They were tough, they were leaders, they had seen everything.  But this Centurion saw something very different.  Knowing his background makes us appreciate what he said all the more.
